"Technology Rocks" Microsoft Competition

Two computer teams from Amman National School participated in the Microsoft competition, “Technology Rocks”, which was held on Friday May, 15th, 2015.

The first team (Mohammed Abboushi “8c”,  Alanood Dabbas “9c”, Mu’taz Al Ashhab “9c”, Jana Zuobi “10a” ) designed and programmed the application “Click Supermarket” which aims at making grocery shopping easy, prompt and satisfactory.  This application offers a service to our community.  Just through few clicks, the shopper who has no time, no access, no mobility or no patience will be provided with the items on her or his shopping list.

The second team (Osama Smadi “8c”, Serena Joury “10c”, Saad Khalifeh “10c”) designed and programmed the game “H2O Rescue” which aims at raising the awareness of the age group (8-14) about conserving natural resources.  The user learns through trial and error and is rewarded when he/she succeeds in saving water or planting trees or other greenery.

Both teams had worked very hard and for long hours in the last two and a half months. Despite the onerous tasks and the many challenges, they enjoyed acquiring new computer skills, brainstorming, researching and applying what they learn in creative projects.

The “Click Supermarket” team won the second prize in the competition for their application.

ANS would like to thank the “IT Department” for their mentorship of the two teams. The Faculty “Muna Abdin, Massara Dana, Sinamis Bayouq” worked enthusiastically and devotedly.
